Thai protest wave clacks out the message loud and clear

You can use it to cheer on a rock band, take to the mall or, why not, try to overthrow a government. The latest must-have among Thailand's protest set is a plastic, hand-shaped clapper. The clack- clack-clack of the multi-colored hands has resonated in Bangkok during the months-long campaign by the People's Alliance for Democracy to bring down the elected government. In fact, it's spawned a minor industry: a vendor outside Government House - occupied by protesters - sa**he sells up to 200 clappers a day.
The average price is 25 baht (HK$5.59),or you can opt for the flashing light version at 35 baht.

"I broke one clapper so now I have a new one. When you get very excited you wave it very hard," explained a middle-aged woman in the grounds of Government House, seized in August.
The area has taken on the air of a music festival as protesters try to topple a government they say is a proxy for exiled Thaksin Shinawatra.
